About me / Ychydig o hanes
My childhood was spent collecting objects, drawing and like all kids, playing in the dirt! Surprisingly this proved to be a valuable background when I enrolled at The University of Sunderland, England to study Glass, Architectural Glass and Ceramics. My passion for drawing and using interesting and pre-loved objects gained me a first class honors degree.
Artists` Residencies were completed in Washington DC, British Columbia and at The National Glass Centre UK and I was very fortunate to exhibit my work throughout Europe, America and Canada with features in numerous publications.
Currently based in Wales, my ceramic studio is on the farm where I grew up, where I create contemporary ceramics for gallery exhibition and a range of bespoke handmade pieces which draw their influence from Wales` rich and varied history. Every piece is handmade and unique.
Contemporary themes expressed through image and text is combined with my rural identity and international travel. My limited production pieces have a welcome familiarity while retaining the unique and contemporary use of porcelain.
